Progress in Liverpool Airport strike talks
18.08.09
Talks aimed at averting a strike by workers at Liverpool Airport have made progress, the GMB union has said. About 150 workers, including baggage handlers employed by ServisAir, have threatened to walk out on an indefinite strike from Thursday.
Proposals were tabled during the negotiations yesterday in a dispute that centres around plans to cut 23 jobs via compulsory redundancy. GMB official Terry Mellor said: ‘We do not yet have an agreement, but progress has been made.’
