Ryanair celebrates 6 millionth passenger at Liverpool Airport

Ryanair celebrated carrying six million passengers through Liverpool Airport yesterday. The budget airline commencing services from Liverpool in 1988, and celebrated its latest milestone by giving away a million free* seats (taxes reduced to zero) - one with each flight booked before the 18th January 2007.
In November 2004 Ryanair announced its 12th European base at Liverpool Airport with 4 new Boeing 737-800 series aircraft and nine new European routes. In April 2006 a further eleven new routes were announced and the total number of aircraft based at the airport was increased to seven. For this Winter season a further two winter sports destinations have been added bringing the total number of routes to 34.
