Eastern Airways pulls out of Liverpool Airport
02.09.11
Eastern Airways has pulled out of Liverpool Airport after axing Aberdeen and Southampton links it launched two years ago. Airport spokesman Robin Tudor said the route's demise is part of a general consolidation by airlines facing tough economic conditions.
The airline operated a total of 20 flights a week on the two routes. Mr Tudor said said he believes the Aberdeen route still has potential due to its links with the oil and gas industry, and could be picked up by another airline. However, flights to Aberdeen are operated from local rival Manchester.
