30.08.09
More than 40,000 passengers are expected to surge through Leeds Bradford Airport over the Bank Holiday weekend. A sudden rush to book a late holiday in the sun has seen the most popular destinations in Spain and Portugal. Rome, Prague, Krakow, Pisa, Paris and Amsterdam are also popular.
Domestic flights have also seen a pick up in demand as passengers aim to avoid road and rail delays. Tony Hallwood, the airport’s commercial director, said: ‘We are delighted to see so many passengers using the airport over this Bank Holiday weekend. We look forward to offering a relaxing start to the weekend for our passengers.’
