Smoke alert at Leeds Bradford Airport
25.07.08
Fire crews made an emergency dash to Leeds Bradford Airport following reports of smoke in a plane's cockpit, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports. The pilot of the Embraer 135, carrying 18 passengers, called for help ahead of landing at the airport at 06:50 on Tuesday.
Firefighters from Rawdon and Cookridge rushed to the scene but the plane landed safely and the incident was a false alarm. It is believed there was a fault with the plane's smoke detector.
