Leeds Bradford Airport parking signs problem
25.06.11
Leeds Bradford Airport broke planning rules when they installed road signs to publicise new car park drop-off charges, the Yorkshire Evening Post reports. They failed to seek or obtain planning permission before erecting signs on White House Lane telling drivers about the minimum £2 airport parking fee.
The newspaper reports that the signs breach guidelines on style, content and letter size. They may also have been put up in the wrong places. The airport has been ordered to replace them. A council spokesman told the YEP: ‘The new signs on White House Lane alerting passengers to the new pick-up and drop-off arrangements at the airport do not meet national road sign guidelines. We have spoken with the airport and will ensure they resolve the matter as quickly as possible.’
