Leeds Bradford urged to improve communication

Leeds Bradford Airport bosses are being urged to improve communication with local people. The call for better relations with local communities was made by Leeds councillors over anger about the airport’s noise consultation.
Members of the public, a civic society and local councillors all asked the the airport to extend the consultation process because of concerns that it had not been publicised well enough, but no extension was granted.
Councillors have now called for a consultative body for the local communities to discuss issues such as airport noise, car parking and private flying. Their concerns will be outlined to Carl Lapworth, the director of operations and engineering from Leeds Bradford Airport, at a meeting of the North West Outer area committee on Monday.
