Jet2 launch Leeds Bradford – Madeira flights

Jet2 has launched weekly flights to Madeira from Leeds Bradford Airport. It is the first time that Yorkshire has been directly linked to the Portuguese island, which is a popular destination for holidaymakers. The flights will operate until the end of summer schedule on October 31st, and returns next summer (an earlier start is planned - February 14, 2011) with flights already on sale.
Jet2's managing director Ian Doubtfire said there was much to discover in Madeira. He said:
‘With beautiful weather, stunning scenery and so much to see and do, we are confident that the island will really captivate the region's holidaymakers.' Tony Hallwood, Leeds Bradford's commercial director, said the new route is ‘fantastic news’ for Yorkshire's holidaymakers.
