15.06.11
Ryanair has announced that it will launch new routes to Lithuania and Latvia from Leeds Bradford Airport this winter. The budget airline will fly to Kaunas and Riga from November.
The new routes take Ryanair’s winter destinations from Leeds Bradford up to 13 routes, and come as it cuts routes from a number of UK airports including Edinburgh, Prestwick and Stansted.
They will mean the airline will fly more than 1 million passengers to an from the airport this year.
Tony Hallwood, the airport's commercial director, said: ‘The new services to Riga and Kaunas will be warmly welcomed as the Leeds City Region looks to develop its trading links across Eastern Europe. We also look forward to encouraging new inbound tourism visitors on both services, working closely with Welcome to Yorkshire to maximise the economic benefits for the region.’
