Leeds Bradford Airport cuts costs for air ambulance
13.06.10
Leeds Bradford Airport, which provides landing space for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, has discounted its landing fees for the charity, potentially saving £30,000 annually. The airport has been home to one of the charity's two helicopters since 2000.
Tony Hallwood, commercial and aviation director at the airport, said: ‘We are proud to support local charitable organisations and none more so than the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. We are proud to have them operate from our airport and have built a strong working relationship with the charity over the years.’
Peter Sunderland, chairman of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, said: ‘We would like to extend our grateful thanks to Leeds Bradford Airport for their continuous support over the years.’
