16.06.10
Kent International Airport (Manston) has taken on 20 extra staff since the announcement of scheduled flights to Edinburgh. The new staff live locally and have been taken on to ensure the new operation runs smoothly.
The service is operated by Flybe, and the new staff include people responsible for check-in and customer service, as well as sales and marketing, operating the shop and security of the airport. In total the airport now employs 112 people to manage the airport’s passenger and freight operations.
Flybe has already confirmed that passenger services to Edinburgh will continue during the winter. The daily service will operate until at least March 26, 2011, meaning a year-round service is in operation.
