BA to extend use of fuel saving plane paint
31.12.11
British Airways plans to have one of its Boeing 777-200 covered with fuel saving paint after successful trials on an Airbus A318 serving its New York - London route.
Rising fuel costs have seen airlines seek new ways of cutting weight and improving efficiency. The coating, made by TripleO, reduces debris build up and improves aerodynamics, the airline said in a statement. It hopes to save more than £100,000 during the testing period.
