BA delay credit card charge introduction
27.02.11
British Airways has postponed its fee of £4.50 on economy class bookings made on credit and charge cards via travel agencies. The airline said the delay, from March 1 until April 19, was as a result of problems discovered during testing in handling the charge in one of the global distribution systems.
The airline said in a statement: ‘During testing a limitation in one system has emerged. Rather than introduce a partial solution whilst we work to resolve this issue, we have taken the decision to defer the start date until the full functionality is available.’ Bookings made with MasterCard and Visa debit cards will fee free once the charge is introduced.
