Two destinations offering contrasting winter experiences - London and the Caribbean - are the most popular options for travellers considering a trip over the winter months, according to a poll by British Airways.
The airline asked its Facebook followers to list the locations they would most like to visit this winter, with London picked on the strength of its shopping opportunities and the Caribbean for its warm weather and natural beauty. Brazil was the third most popular winter getaway, with New York and Cape Town completing the top five.
The survey found that warmth and sunshine, returning home and visiting friends and family were the most common reasons for travel during the winter.
