22.10.11
Heathrow Airport is seeking volunteers to join 'Team Heathrow' and be among the first faces London 2012 athletes see as they arrive for the Olympics. The airport wants to recruit 1000 volunteers to help with special events over the next few years, including the Olympics and Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The will volunteers greet athletes and VIPs, help spectators find their way and manage fans waiting for a peek of their heroes.
The airport will be the first and last impression of this country which many people get during Games time, and local residents are being asked to help make it a success. The first selection day for volunteers takes place on November 12 at the Heathrow Academy in Hounslow. A further selection day will be held in December.
