A PR consultant from London has been jailed for seven years for trying to smuggle £500,000 worth of high purity cocaine into the UK through Heathrow Airport. Canadian Kieron Kawall, 50, of Southampton Street in Westminster was stopped by UK Border Agency officers at Heathrow Terminal 1 after arriving a flight from Sao Paulo Brazil on March 20.
Mr Kawall claimed he had been in Brazil to help organise a hot air balloon race. When officers searched his baggage they found 3 boxes of chocolate biscuits. The drugs were concealed inside the biscuits; in total he was carrying 4.25 kg of high purity cocaine, with an estimated street value of £543,000.
At a hearing at Isleworth Crown Court he pleaded guilty to importing a class A drug, and was jailed for 7 years.
