BA and American co-ordinate US schedules

British Airways has announced changes to its US flights schedules from the end of the month a s result of its links with American Airlines and Iberia. Starting from March 27, when the airlines launch their summer schedules, Heathrow New York flights will depart every hour, on the hour, between 13:00 and 20:00. There will also be a maximum of an hour and a half between morning departures. Previously, of the 11 daily flights to New York that BA and AA operates, 5 left Heathrow at almost exactly the same time, leaving gaps of up to 3 hours between services.
Chicago flights inbound to Heathrow previously had four flights departing at similar times around 17:00 and 20:00. Now the flights will be evenly spaced, departing at around 17:00, 18:00, 19:00 and 20:00. The 09:00 and 09:45 departures are unchanged. In addition, two of the three Miami flights from Heathrow clashed around 10:00. These have now been split to leave at 10:00 and 11:00, with the 13:30 flight moved to 13:35.
BA will launch daily services to San Diego from Heathrow on June 1, marking a return to the route after eight years. As part of the deal with BA and AA, Iberia is also starting the only direct flight between Spain and California, linking Madrid and Los Angeles three times a week. A BA spokesman said: ‘We are finally able to align all our flights and offer customers more frequent services.’
