BA ‘may resume flights to Pakistan’
16.04.11
Prime Minister David Cameron telephoned his Pakistani counterpart Yousuf Raza Gilani yesterday and said British Airways may soon resume flights to Pakistan, according to reports in Pakistan. The fights were halted in 2008 after the bombing of an Islamabad hotel.
BA suspended flights between Heathrow and Islamabad after a suicide bomber crashed an explosives-laden truck at the Marriott Hotel that killed 60 people and wounded 266 others. Mr Cameron told Mr Gilani that BA was considering resuming flights to Pakistan to help reinvigorate the friendly ties between the two countries, Xinhua reported citing a statement from the British prime minister's office.
