Heathrow becomes 2012 sponsor

Heathrow Airport has become the 42nd domestic sponsor of the London 2012 Olympics. With about 80 percent of people traveling to the Games expected to pass through Heathrow, the airport has become a tier three sponsor, at a cost of around £10m.
BAA Chief Executive Colin Matthews says ‘Heathrow will be the first and last impression of the London 2012 Games for thousands of people.’ The day after the closing ceremony, August 13, 2012, is set to be Heathrow's busiest day ever.
