Comedians set new highest stand up record for red nose day
13.03.11
Comedians Dara O'Briain, Jack Whitehall and Jon Richardson performed the highest stand-up gig ever on a British Airways flight. The event was in aid of Red Nose Day, and saw the trio entertain 180 passengers at 35,000 feet aboard the record-breaking 'Smile High' event, organised by the airline as part of its partnership with Comic Relief.
The comedians performed for a total of 45 minutes on the two-and-a-half-hour flight, which took them from Heathrow up in to Norwegian airspace before returning back to Heathrow. Metro reports that 150 of the crowd were competition winners, which raised nearly £100,000 for the charity in entry fees.
The 'Flying Start' partnership between BA and Comic Relief has raised over £700,000 since its launch in June 2010. Red Nose Day takes place on Friday (March 18).
