Aegean Airlines launch Heathrow – Larnaka flights
12.03.11
Aegean Airlines is to use slots at Heathrow acquired by Olympic Air to launch flights between Larnaka and the London airport. The two Greek airlines had planned to merge, but this was blocked by European competition regulators, a decision the airlines plan to appeal.
Aegean is attempting to grow its passengers between Cyprus and Britain, a market dominated by British Airways and Cyprus Airlines. The new route is expected to begin on March 27 and Aegean’s program foresees at least one daily flight.
