Virgin axe Heathrow – Mauritius route
10.02.10
Virgin Atlantic is axing its flights from Heathrow to Mauritius this spring, Flightmapping reports. The airline currently operates twice-weekly flights on the route, but this comes to an end on April 24. Virgin Atlantic have not yet revealed why the route has been cancelled.
Virgin first launched Mauritius flights in October 2007, but has faced stiff competition from British Airways and Air Mauritius, both of whom have been long established on the route. Passengers booked on Mauritius flights after April 24 are being offered a full refund or convenient alternative flights with Air Mauritius.
