Qatar adds Heathrow flights
08.12.11
Qatar Airways will introduce a fifth daily flight between Heathrow and Doha on March 25 next year, to provide extra seats in time for the London Olympics. The additional service on the highly popular route takes capacity up from 28 to 35 flights each week. It will operated using one of the airline's flagship Boeing 777 long haul aircraft with a capacity of 42 seats in Business Class featuring lie-flat beds, and 217 seats in Economy.
The extra flight (QR076) will leave Heathrow at 16:00, arriving in Doha at 00:50 the following day. The return flight (QR075) will depart Doha at 06:35 and arrive at Heathrow at 12:00 (all times local). They have been scheduled to offer more convenient connections over its Doha hub to and from the airline’s route network across Asia Pacific.
Chief executive Akbar Al Baker said the additional capacity ‘reflected the growing importance of London to the airline’s international operations’ and would also help meet demand for the London 2012 Olympics.
