BA flights Barcelona and Madrid switch to Terminal 5
07.08.11
British Airways is moving its Barcelona and Madrid flights from Heathrow’s Terminal 3 to Terminal 5 for this winter. The airline said the move is a reaction to the increased number of passengers taking connecting flights via Heathrow following BA’s merger with Spain's Iberia earlier this year.
A BA spokesman said: ‘The vast majority of British Airways flights depart from Terminal 5. The move will mean the transfer process from our Spanish flights to onward destinations will be smoother when they are housed in one terminal.’
In order to accommodate the Barcelona and Madrid flights at Terminal 5, BA’s flights to Prague, Budapest, Warsaw, Bucharest and Larnaca will move to Terminal 3. All changes will take place when the new winter schedule starts on October 30.
