Emergency landing for BA flight
06.10.08
A British Airways flight from Heathrow Airport to Houston made an emergency landing in Chicago yesterday after staff smelled burning, the airline said.
Flight BA195 diverted to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, landing at 13:20 local time (19:20 BST). BA said that none of the passengers or crew members had been in danger and that the smell had been caused by a fault with an in-flight TV screen.
Passengers were taken into the terminal building at Chicago and transferred to domestic flights to enable them to continue with their journey to Houston. A BA spokesman said: ‘We apologise for the inconvenience to passengers, but the crew did exactly the right thing in diverting as a precaution.'
