16.08.08
Flyglobespan is launching flights between Glasgow Airport and the Egyptian resort of Hurghada this winter. Tickets are already on sale for flights, which start in early November, with fares from £120 one-way.
The airline already operates weekly flights between Glasgow and the popular resort of Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt. Flyglobespan chairman Tom Dalrymple said: ‘We are delighted to be launching another direct flight from Scotland to Egypt. I'm confident that Hurghada, with its sandy beaches, great climate and world-class hotels, will be a great success, attracting a mix of families, couples and dive enthusiasts.’
Gordon Dewar, managing director of Glasgow Airport, said: ‘Egypt is proving increasingly popular with Scottish holidaymakers. Its culture, history and landscape make it a quite unique holiday experience, and visitor numbers have been growing consistently.’
