More than 2,000 new jobs could be created under plans to expand Exeter Airport, released today. The airport has unveiled its expansion plans in a draft master plan, which includes an expected increase in on-site jobs from 1,400 to 3,550 by 2030 and looks for more destinations, a new runway and taxiways.
It is anticipated that passenger numbers will increase to 1.9 million by 2015 and 3.4 million by 2030 in line with expected route expansion to other parts of the UK, Europe and North America.
The plan anticipates the airport's local economic contribution rising from £105m to £264m over the period. The Draft Master Plan is open for public consultation for three months. Click on the link above to visit the airport's website and find more information.
