Jet2 launch Edinburgh – Budapest flights

Jet2 has launched a new year round route from Edinburgh Airport to Budapest. The flights will operate three times a week - on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday - over the summer, and move to twice a week - Thursday and Sunday - over the winter.
Ian Doubtfire, the budget airline's MD, was on the inaugural flight and said: ‘We are delighted to have begun this exciting new route linking Budapest and Edinburgh. The route offers travellers a fast and efficient, award-winning service.’
The plane operating the first flight was welcomed with a water cannon salute on arrival, and the crew were presented with a cake to commemorate the new service. Fares on the route start from only £44.99 one way including taxes.
