Bomb disposal team at Edinburgh Airport over shell casing
06.10.09
Bomb disposal experts were called to Edinburgh Airport yesterday after a shell casing was dug up yards from the terminal during tram line construction. A disposal team removed the device and carried out a controlled explosion.
The incident at about 10:00 did not affect flights and the terminal was not evacuated. The airport is a former military airfield and unexploded bombs in the vicinity are a known hazard for construction works.
