Passengers up at Edinburgh and Aberdeen; down at Glasgow
13.12.11
Edinburgh and Aberdeen airports both saw rises in passengers numbers last month, but at Glasgow they fell.
Edinburgh enjoyed a 3.2 percent increase to 642,100 passengers, whilst Aberdeen saw a 16.1 percent increase to 262,500 as it continued to benefit from a runway extension that has enabled airlines to launch new routes. Glasgow saw a 2.5 percent fall to 473,000. BAA blamed part of the drop on weather disruptions and the strike by UK Border Agency staff, which saw airlines cancel flights and operate planes with fewer passengers.
