Emergency services were called to Edinburgh Airport yesterday after an aircraft experienced ‘an issue’ on approach into the hub, the Evening News reports. Eight fire engines, three paramedic cars and two ambulances attended the airport, but were not required after the plane landed safely.
A spokeswoman for the fire service told the newspaper: ‘An aircraft coming in to Edinburgh Airport at just after 09:00 reported that it had an unstable nose wheel. We were asked to stand by but after it landed safely, the incident was downgraded.’
A spokeswoman for the airport, added: ‘Emergency services were on standby after an aircraft indicated an issue on approach into Edinburgh, as standard procedure. The plane landed safely and the incident was downgraded thereafter.’
