Small plane emergency at East Midlands Airport

Emergency crews were put on standby after an aircraft encountered problems near East Midlands Airport yesterday.
The pilot of the small plane reported he was having trouble and wanted to land at the airport just before 14:00. Fire crews were called out but were not needed.
A spokesman for the airport said the problem was was corrected in the air. The plane then landed at another airport.
