Airports asking some airlines to pay cash

With more than two dozen airlines out of business already this year, and reports suggesting as many as another fifty could follow, there have been claims that some airlines are being asked to pay cash to refuel at UK airports.
Unconfirmed reports claim some UK airports are asking airlines for cash payments for landing and other charges, rather than extending credit. An aviation journalist interviewed on the Channel 4 Friday programme said he believed the practice was ‘becoming commonplace’, but declined to name any of the airlines or the airports.
