Part time Derry Airport boss earns £35k in 3 months
28.04.09
Derry City Council has paid the manager of City of Derry Airport almost £35,000 since he took up the part-time post just over 3 months ago the BBC revealed. It obtained the figure following a request under the Freedom of Information Act.
Albert Harrison was hired on 13 January to work 3 days a week. The BBC says that, if that is still the case, he will have worked 48 days to date at most - equating to £725 a day. But his daily pay might actually be higher as the council said that Mr Harrison's 6 month contract provided for ‘a phased reduction in the number of days he worked per week,’ so he may be working fewer than three days a week.
