A Lithuanian man has been remanded in custody after cocaine estimated to have a street value of £250,000 was found in a suitcase at Bristol Airport. Andrius Karbauskis, 25, who did not provide an address, had arrived on a flight from Antalya in Turkey on Saturday with the suitcase.
The suitcase was searched by UK Border Agency officers at the airport and white powder was found hidden in false compartments. Mr Karbauskis was arrested and charged with importing cocaine.
He appeared at North Somerset Magistrates' Court yesterday, but did not enter a plea at the hearing. He was remanded in custody to appear at the court via video link on 25 October.
