Bristol Airport opens new walkway on 80th anniversary
26.05.10
Bristol Airport is celebrating its 80th anniversary with the opening of a brand new walkway. The 450m path, which cost £8m, connects the terminal to eight new pre-boarding gates / lounges that will allow passengers to walk to and from aircraft instead of being driven by bus. The airport also says the walkway will improve customer service, allow better priority boarding and reduce emissions from airport vehicles.
The walkway has taken 12 months to construct. There will be an official opening ceremony for the walkway on Friday at 10:30, with a VIP audience, representing businesses, tourism organisations and local communities.
