Passengers up 12.3% at Bristol Airport
20.05.08
Bristol Airport enjoyed a 12.3% jump in passenger numbers in April, with international traffic up 25.8%, mostly due to the opening of the new Ryanair base in November 2007 and new easyJet routes. However, domestic traffic was 8.4% lower than April 2007 due to reductions in load factors and charter traffic was down 4.2% due to Easter falling in March this year.
easyJet launched three new routes from Bristol in the month - to Biarritz in France, Olbia in Sardinia and Split in Croatia - taking the number of easyJet served routes to 39. Bristol Airport also reached a landmark in passengers in April with more than six million people having passed through the airport over the last 12 months, up 6.8% on the previous 12 month period.
