A drugs mule who was stopped at Bristol Airport had swallowed 63 packets of cocaine in order to attempt to smuggle them in to the UK, a court has heard. Izuchukwu Nwafor was stopped when he got off a flight from Brussels to Bristol on July 11. The dual British and Nigerian national admitted a charge of drug smuggling at Uxbridge Magistrates Court.
The 36-year-old was stopped by UK Border Agency officers at Bristol Airport after travelling from Lagos, Nigeria, via Brussels. He was questioned at passport control, arrested as the officers suspected he had swallowed drugs and moved to a detention centre near Heathrow.
After several days Nwafor was found to have swallowed 63 packages which contained cocaine. He is due to be sentenced at Isleworth Crown Court on August 26.
