Bristol KLM flight in fumes emergency
15.08.11
A KLM plane was diverted to land at Norwich Airport yesterday after both pilots reported feeling ill, the EDP reports. A strange smell from ‘unknown fumes’ caused the pilots of the flight from Bristol to Amsterdam to report the problem and the plane was brought in to land at the airport just after 09:30.
Several fire crews were initially scrambled and an emergency response ambulance vehicle also rushed to the scene. However the Fokker 70 aircraft landed safely and there was no need for medical treatment for the pilots or passengers.
The flight was later cancelled, and the passengers were rebooked on other flights.
