Profits up at Bristol Airport
05.08.08
Macquarie Airports (MAp) has reported the profits (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) for Bristol Airport for the six months to 30 June 2008. In the 3 months to the end of June the airport's profit was up 12.9% to £10.5m, with profit up 15.4% on the 6 months to the end of June at £16.3m.
The company said in a statement that revenue growth was driven by passenger growth and car parking activities on the back of successful marketing and the introduction of new products. However, retail income has been affected by the impact of the security expansion works and the switch of several catering units from landside to airside. Operating costs benefited from cost saving initiatives undertaken by the airport.
