Jet2 add Blackpool Airport ski route

Low-cost airline Jet2 has announced that it is launching a new service to Geneva from Blackpool Airport this winter for the ski season. The city is a gateway to some of the most popular skiing in the Swiss Alps.
The flights start on December 13 and run until mid-April, with prices starting from £29.99 one way including taxes. It is the first route to be announced since new owner Balfour Beatty took over at the airport earlier this month and takes the number of destinations served by Jet2 from the hub to nine.
David Kershaw, chief executive at Blackpool Airport, said: ‘We're delighted to be able to offer passengers a new winter destination, Geneva. This clearly demonstrates Jet2's confidence in Blackpool and will help us achieve our aim of becoming the airport of choice for residents, businesses and visitors across Lancashire and Cumbria.'
‘By offering more flights and destinations, we are encouraging people to use their local airport so their travelling times are shorter and the start of their journey is a stress free and enjoyable experience.’
