Birmingham Airport to get M&S food

Marks & Spencer has announced that it is opening a Simply Food store at Birmingham Airport at the end of this year. The store, which will sell a range of snacks and convenience foods, will open in the central arrivals area of terminal one in December.
The new store is part of a £13 million investment by Birmingham Airport to improve the facilities for travellers, which will see the airport’s two terminals merge. It will be operated under a franchise agreement between M&S and SSP UK, the airport food and beverage brands company that runs M&S Simply Food franchise stores in the travel and hospital environment.
Richard Gill, head of commercial at Birmingham Airport, said: 'We want the holiday experience to start and continue as soon as travellers arrive or return to the airport and aim to achieve this by increasing choice and availability of quality food and drink options.’
