New Birmingham Airport rail link

A new direct rail service from Shropshire to Birmingham Airport has begun operating. The route is part of a major revamp of the timetable between the county by Arriva Trains Wales (ATW).
ATW ‘air hostesses’ greeted passengers with complimentary travel packs and refreshments, offering an airline-style service to mark the new rail link. About an extra 650 seats a day will be available on the hourly services, which will also stop at Birmingham New Street.
The route will also provide the first direct service to Birmingham International Railway Station, offering a new link with the National Exhibition Centre and the National Indoor Arena for events, shows, exhibitions and concerts.
