Birmingham Airport drugs smuggler jailed

An Austrian man has been jailed for 18 months for attempting to smuggle 6 kilos of cannabis through Birmingham Airport.
Klaus Grunseis, 45, was detained after he arrived on a flight from Thailand via Delhi and Zurich in March. Customs officers searched his luggage and following an x-ray found the drugs, worth an estimated £12,000, concealed in the lining of his two suitcases. He pleaded guilty to drug offences.
