CAA arrange special fares with BMI to get Comtel passengers home
21.11.11
Flights are being arranged with BMI to help stranded British passengers return home from India after the collapse of a UK-based travel agency caused Austrian airline Comtel Air to cancel all flights between Amritsar and Birmingham. The flight cancellations have left about 180 people stranded in India.
Passengers are being offered special rates on BMI, with the UK Civil Aviation Authority agreeing to refund them under its ATOL scheme. A CAA spokesman said: ‘We are organising special fares on BMI flights back to England that they will be able to take and then claim money back from the CAA to repay for that.’
