Seven years for Birmingham Airport drug smuggler

A drug trafficker has been jailed after trying to smuggle one and a half kilos of cocaine through Birmingham Airport.
Gavin Archibald Thorburn, 32, of Scatterhill Close, Bradwell Village, Milton Keynes, was sentenced to seven years in prison at Warwick Crown Court after admitting the offence at an earlier hearing. He was arrested by officers from the UK Border Agency, who seized £65,000 worth of drugs hidden in his luggage, when he arrived on a flight from Nairobi via Dubai on July 7.
