Flybe axe UK – Ireland routes
13.05.08
Regional budget airline Flybe is axing routes between Ireland and three UK airports. It is pulling out of Galway Airport, cancelling routes to Belfast, Southampton and Birmingham during peak seasons.
Galway Airport Managing Director, Joe Walsh said the airline was not getting enough passengers from Galway to make the routes viable and had taken the decision as a result of a cost-cutting measure.
Flybe flew from Galway to Southampton four times a week, while the Belfast route was a daily service.
