Flybe Belfast flights hit by de-icer failure
06.12.11
Eight Flybe flights from Belfast City Airport were delayed yesterday after the airline experienced technical issues with its de-icing equipment. A flight to Glasgow was also cancelled as a result of the problems, which were only resolved at 15:00.
Snow fell in various areas of Northern Ireland and Scotland on Sunday night, with 5 cms on high ground. Belfast City Airport has its own de-icers, but they are contracted to deal with BMI and bmibaby flights. They were used by Flybe when those contractual arrangements had been fulfilled.
