Bomb in Belfast Airport car park for 2½ years

The Belfast Telegraph reports that a bomb was left undetected and unexploded at a Belfast International Airport car park for more than two and a half years. Dissident republicans left the device in a car at the airport's long stay car park for 906 days, a source has told the paper. It was only discovered when the company operating the car park arranged for it to be towed away.
The bomb remained in the car park from 7 May 2008 until 30 October 2010, the paper reports. Whilst it was there, the then US President George W Bush, then Prime Minister Gordon Brown and the Queen had all passed through the airport. It is not known whether it was planted to target a specific individual, or as a more random terror attack.
