Aberdeen Airport launch Polish flights survey
26.11.07
A survey into the demand for a new direct air service between Aberdeen Airport and Poland has been launched. The survey has already had over 1000 responses, with over two weeks to go before it closes.
The survey - which is available at www.szkocja24.com and also on the English version of the site www.polesinscotland.com - is to gauge the appetite for the route between Aberdeen and Poland. An estimated 25,000 Poles live in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire.
It asks whether they would use a direct service between Poland and Aberdeen, which Polish airports they would prefer to use, and what determines their flying habits. Paper copies of the survey have also been made available at a number of Aberdeen venues, including the Old Warsaw Bakery, Ambasada, Piotr & Pawel, the Crow's Nest and the McPolski Pub.
Aberdeen Airport marketing manager, Penny Godfrey, said: 'We believe there is an appetite for a direct route between Aberdeen and Poland. There are a number of airlines looking at this but we need to substantiate the service by asking the Polish people living in our communities directly.'
